Legends of Surf Music
Al Jardine, Dean Torrence and David Marks

The Legends of Surf Music show features original Beach Boy Al Jardine, Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean, and original Beach Boy David Marks, backed by the talented line-up of the Surf City Allstars.

This show features the greatest hits of the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean.  Each member has had a long career in surf and beach music. When you experience this show, you get the authentic "SURF" sound and harmonies that were prominent during the 1960's and 70's.

Al Jardine is the co-founder of the Beach Boys and the most recognizable of all the original members of the Beach Boys band. Al is a Grammy Award winner and fellow member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With his fantastic voice sounding better than ever, and his surf guitar strumming, Al brings that superb authenticity and vocal sound that was the very foundation of the Beach Boys unique style. Al Jardine performs the Greatest Hits of the BEACH BOYS in the LEGENDS Show.

Dean Torrence was the co-founder, co-lead singer, andco-writer of the hit surf duo, JAN & DEAN. Dean first teamed up with Jan Berry in the 1950's while they both attended High School in West Los Angeles. The duo went
on to score a huge string of hit songs beginning in 1959 until Jan's horrible car crash in 1966. Dean performs DRAG CITY, LITTLE OLD LADY FROM PASADENA, NEW GIRL IN SCHOOL, DEADMAN'S CURVE, SURF CITY, and the song he recorded with the Beach Boys-BARBARA ANN.

David Marks was present for the early rehearsals for the Beach Boys in 1961. When Brian Wilson decided not to tour with the band and stay home to write songs, David played second guitar and Al Jardine played bass.

This line-up continued for the first 4 albums with David Marks playing on many of the Beach Boys biggest hits: SURFIN' SAFARI, SURFIN' USA, SURFER GIRL, CATCH A WAVE, LITTLE DEUCE COUPE, 409, SHUT DOWN, IN MY ROOM, and many more. David performs these songs and also sings the Beach Boys very first hit, SURFIN', with the LEGENDS. Many people don't realize that there were 6 Original Beach Boys in those early days. David Marks was with Al Jardine, Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, and Dennis Wilson. You can see all 6 of them honored at the Beach Boys' Historical Landmark in Hawthorne, CA where they all grew up and became the greatest American Rock & Roll band of all time.
