Peter
Sabatino first met Jerry Storch and Roger Mansour while attending Forest
Hills High School. They had all been called into the
principal's office to be lectured on their unusually long hair. Soon
after, the Vagrants were formed.
Besides singing, Sabatino plays the harmonica and one of the wildest
tamborines around. He actually twirls it and tosses it into space
without missing
a beat. His jumping, girating and almost dance like movements on stage
have been a great part of the visual appeal the Vagrants had in their
day
Basic rhythm tracks to some of the Vagrants most noted songs are currently
being re-recorded for an upcoming release. Lead Vocalist Peter Sabatino
is very excited and pleased with the progress of the sessions, as are
the rest of the musicians: Tony Pinisi (Hammond Organ/Vocals), Eli Brown (Bass Guitar/Vocals), Tom San Filippo (Lead Guitar/Vocals), and Russ Giannotti (Drums/Vocals).
The New Vagrants are taking great care in preserving the essence of the
original 60's vibe, while engineers Joe Warda and Patrick Klein capture
a sound
that is altogether fresh and new. The Vagrants timeless material is now
taking on a whole new new life in this digital age.
