Bill Haley's Comets can best be described as a true Phenomenon. The band that Bill Haley started in the 50's is still going strong today under the leadership of Lenny Longo, in memory of John "Bam Bam" Lane. Bam Bam (a nickname given to him by Bill Haley) joined the band at the age of seventeen and soon became one of the most popular Comets of all time. They both were a major part of the live shows and were included on many recordings.
Bam Bam can be heard on well over 50 different albums and is the only one left of the Comets who launched the first Rock and Roll Revival. At that time they became one of the biggest acts in the world, breaking attendance records wherever they performed.
Today, Bill Haley’s Comets continue with the tradition that Bill Haley and Bam Bam instilled. The band has the same high energy and sound they've always had and in fact the current band consisting of Lenny Longo, Sonny Edwards, Mike Lampe, and Carmen Consentino continue the tradition with an enthusiasm that would have made Bill and Bam Bam proud.
Although the Comets have cut back on the number of their performances, they still continue to do over 100 shows a year at some of the best venues in the world and the response is always fantastic with standing ovations and screams for encore after encore.
