In 1970 Peppy Castro was coming off his first hit record as one of the founding fathers of the legendary rock group "The Blues Magoos". His rock star status led him to a starring role in the Broadway Musical "Hair". While in the cast he developed a life long friendship with Billy and Bobby Alessi aka "The Alessi Brothers" who were already in the cast. After their run on Broadway, the boys started Barnaby Bye. They enlisted the talents of an amazing drummer (Mike Riciaradella) who was also enjoying rock star status as an original member of the infamous band "The Illusion". They played just one live show and were personally signed by record industry Icon, Ahmet Ertegun of Atlantic Records. They recorded two nationally acclaimed albums for Atlantic.
Fast forward / over thirty years later! All have gone onto singular successes on Madison Avenue, writing many of the corporate jingles America has memorized by now. Their songs and talents have been recorded by numerous major artists. So much so that collectively their talents have embraced the sale of well over 20 million records. This list is endless - Cher, Kiss, Olivia Newton John, Michael Bolton, Joan Jett, Elton John, Quincy Jones, Debbie Gibson, Christopher Cross, Diana Ross, Alice Cooper and more! A one-night only sold out reunion got their creative juices flowing again. This led to more sold-out shows.
The band is now writing and recording again for the first time in decades.
